(Michael Anthony), a celebrated geographer, born at Paris July 18th 1633. He travelled into several countries; and then applied himself to the revival of Ferrarius's Geographical Dictionary, which he enlarged by one-half. He wrote, 1. Notes to Papirius Maio's description of the Rivers of France. 2. A Geographical and Historical Dictionary. 3. Christian Geography, or an Account of the Archdioceses and Bishoprics of the whole World; and made several maps. He died at Paris May 29th 1700.
