(Francisco), called II Frari, an eminent painter, was born at Modena; and had the honour of being matter to one of the most esteemed painters that ever appeared, Antonio Correggio. His colouring was delicately fine; his attitudes full of grace; and his invention extremely grand. His works had an astonishing beauty, and are prized as highly as even those of Correggio. He died in 1520.
