A cross bottomy, in heraldry, terminates at each end in three buds, knots, or buttons, resembling, in some measure, the three-leaved gras; on Bottrigaro, which account Segoing, in his Tresor Heraldique, terms it croix treffle. It is the badge of the order of St Maurice. See Heraldry Plates.
