a town of Devonshire, with a market on Saturdays, and two fairs, on May 13th and October 10th, for horned cattle. It is but a small place, and lies on the road from Exeter to Plymouth, being 26 miles south-west from the former, and 198 west-by-south of London. W. Long. 5° 7'. N. Lat. 50° 30'.

BRENT Goose, a species of goose with a black neck, and a white collar round; usually confounded with the barnacle, tho' in reality a distinct species. See Anas.
