a fortified town of Piedmont, situated on the river Po, about seven miles south of Turin. E. Long. 7° 25'. N. Lat. 44° 30'. It was taken in 1544 by the French; who demolished the fortifications, but spared the castle. It was also taken, and retaken, in 1691.
