a kind of divination, performed by considering the dough or matter of the cakes offered in sacrifice, and the meal strewn over the victims to be killed. Hence, in regard they ordinarily used barley-meal in these ceremonies, this kind of divination was called crithomancy, from σίτιν, barley, and ἀναγνώσις, divination.
