an island of the Red Sea, over-against the coast of Abex, about 72 miles in length and 15 in breadth. It is very fertile, populous, and remarkable for a pearl fishery. The inhabitants are negroes, and great enemies to the Mahometans. There is a town of the same name seated over-against Abaffa.
