or Garsoon, a French term, literally signifying a boy or male child any time before his marriage.—It is also applied to divers inferior officers, among us called grooms, gardians. Thus all the servants in the French king's chambers, wardrobe, &c., who do the lesser offices thereof under the proper officers, are called gardons de la chambre, de la garderobe, &c.
