William), a learned physician in the 16th century, was born at Bergamo in Italy; and taught physic with reputation at Padua; but having embraced the Protestant religion, he retired to Switzerland, where he was made professor of physic. He died at Basil in 1568, aged 52. He wrote several curious works in Latin; among which are, 1. The manner of preserving and improving the memory. 2. Of preserving in health travellers, men of letters, magistrates, and studious persons, &c.
