HIPPOCRATIA, in botany: A genus of the monogynia order, belonging to the triandra clas of plants; and in the natural method ranking with those of which the order is doubtful. The calyx is quinquepartite; the petals five, the capsules three in number, and the latter of an obcordate shape.
