Jerome calls it a sacrificial city, situated on a mountain 20 miles from Tyre, near Paneas, and called Cidias, taken by the king of Af- rycia.—Another Kedes in the tribe of Issachar (1 Chron. vii. 72.) which seems to be called Kifon (Joshua xix.).
