About 40 towns in this hamlet, which are specified by Dugdale, are obliged, on the forfeiture of 30s. and a white bull, to pay a certain rent to the lord of the hamlet, called wroth-money, or swarf-penny; which must be deposited every Martinmas-day in the morning at Knighton this crofs before sun-rise; when the party paying it must go thrice about the crofs, and say the wroth-money, and then lay it in the hole of the said crofs before good witnes.
