a town of Suffolk, seven miles from Newmarket, 12 from Bury, and 70 from London. It is a large populous town on the river Lark, a branch of the Ouse, with a harbour for boats. It has a well frequented market on Fridays, especially for fish and wild-fowl. Its church has a tower or steeple 140 feet high.
