a town of Lower Hungary, in the county of Peczeas, with a fortress composed of three castles, seated on a craggy rock. It is encompassed with a great moat, and art and nature have rendered it almost impregnable. It was defended by the Princess Ragotzky, wife of Count Tckeli, when besieged by an army of the Imperialists, who were obliged to raise the siege in 1688.
