(Hadrian), physician to the duke of Mecklenburgh and several other German princes, was distinguished for his knowledge of chemistry, at the beginning of the 17th century. He published a work entitled Armentarium Medico-Chymicum, which has undergone various editions. In this work he gives a description of several medicines, about the virtues of which he is not always to be depended upon. To him we are indebted for a knowledge of the salt de duobus or the Arcanum, which is still in use.
