one of the Sandwich Islands, discovered by Captain Cook in his last voyage to the Pacific Ocean; they are eleven in number, and are situated from 18° 4' to 22° 15' N. Lat. and from 154° 5' to 169° 24' W. Long. They are not very particularly described in any account that has hitherto appeared.
