GERMAN GROUNDSEL, in botany: A genus of plants belonging to the class of oecandria, and order of monogyne; and in the natural system arranged under the 31st order, Verbenaceae. There is no calyx. The corolla is quadridifid. The stamens are very short. There is only one seed, which is black. The species are two in number, pauciflora and chamaejaime.
