a town of Germany, in Lower Carinthia, with a castle, on which the district about it depends, which is 20 miles in length, and 10 in breadth. It is seated on the river Lavant, at the foot of a mountain covered with wood, and full of wolves, from whence the town took its name. It is 36 miles east of Klagenfurt. E. Long. 15°. O. N.
