VADE MEcum, the title given to such books as men of particular professions, having frequent occasion to consult, may easily carry about with them. Thus a small volume, published in the beginning of the 18th century, giving an account of the ancient and present church of England, and of the duties, rights, privileges, and hardships of the clergy, is known by the title of the Clergyman's Vade mecum.
