ALBINTEMELIUM. ALBINTEMELIUM. Albintimilium, (Tacitus); or at full length, Alesium Intemelium, (Pliny, Strabo); now Vintimiglia, situated in the south-west of the territory of Genoa, near the borders of the county of Nice, with a port on the Mediterranean, at the mouth of the rivulet Rotta, about halfway between Monaco and S. Remo. E. Long. 7° 40' N. Lat. 43° 17'.

ALBIOECE, or ALBEOCE, (Pliny, Strabo); otherwise called Reii Apollinaris, from their superstitious worship of Apollo; also Civitas Reiensium; now Riez, in Provence, about 18 leagues to the north-east of Toulon, on the north side of the rivulet Verdon; was originally a Roman colony, (Inscription). It is sometimes written Regium. The people were called Albici, (Cæsar.) E. Long. 1° 0' N. Lat. 43° 20'.
