a town of Hejaz, a district of Arabia Felix. It is situated about sixty miles east of Mecca, behind Mount Gazwan, where the cold is more intense than in any other part of the district, but the air very wholesome. Its territory abounds in fountains, and produces excellent raisins. The town is surrounded with a wall, but is not very large.
