a storehouse of arms, or a place wherein military habiliments are kept, to be ready for use. There are armories in the Tower, and in all arsenals, citadels, castles, &c.

ARMOURY is also used for a branch of heraldry; being the knowledge of coat armours, as to their blazons, and various intemements.
