Volume 2 · 77 words · 1810 Edition

a missile weapon of offence, slender, pointed, and barbed, to be cast or shot with a bow. See ARCHERY.

Arrow-Makers, are called fletchers; and were formerly, as well as bowyers, persons of great consequence in the commonwealth.

Arrow-heads and quarrels were to be well boched or braided, and hardened at the points with steel; the doing of which seems to have been the business of the arrow-smith. Arrow-Head. See Sagittaria, Botany Index.

Arrow-Roof. See Maranta, Botany Index.
