the yellow part in the middle of an egg (see Egg). It contains a lymphatic substance mixed with a certain quantity of mild oil, which, on account of this mixture, is soluble in water. When exposed to heat, it assumes a consistence not so hard as the white of the egg; and when bruised gives out the oil which it contains. This oil has been used externally as a liniment.
