MICHAEL ANTHONY, a celebrated geographer, born at Paris July 18, 1633. He travelled into several countries; and then applied himself to the revival of Ferrarius's Geographical Dictionary, which he enlarged by one half. He wrote, 1. Notes to Papirius Malleo's description of the Rivers of France. 2. A Geographical and Historical Dictionary. 3. Christian Geography, or an Account of the Archbishops and Bishops of the whole world; and made several maps. He died at Paris, May 29, 1700.
