the Italian Architecture, &c., denotes either a pavilion on the top of a building, or an artificial eminence in a garden; the word literally signifying a fine prospect.

considerable town of Greece, and capital of a province of the same name in the Morea. The province lies on the western coast: it is the most fertile and rich in all the Morea; and from it the raisins called Belvederes take their name. The town is situated in E. Long. 22° 0'. N. Lat. 38° 5'.
