ADRIAN DE, an eminent painter, was born at Liere in 1594. After learning the rudiments of the art from different masters, he travelled to Rome, where he spent six years in studying the works of the best masters. His industry was then rewarded with proportionable success; for he found encouragement among BIEZ, a town of Poland, in the palatinate of Cracovia, remarkable for its mines of vitriol.
