a palatinate in the duchy of Lithuania, in Poland. The name given to it by some is Połocka. It is bounded on the north, by Novogrode and Troki; on the west, by those of Bielikko and Lublin; on the south, by that of Chelm and Upper Volhnia; and on the east, by the territory of Rzeczica. This province is of considerable extent from east to west, and is watered by the rivers Bug and Pripele: it is full of woods and marshes; and there are lakes that yield large quantities of fish, that are fished by the inhabitants, and sent into the neighbouring provinces.
