in Ancient Geography, a lake of Rhætia, or Vindelicia, which Tacitus includes in Rhaetia. Ammian calls the lake Brigantia. It took its name either from the Brigantii, the people Brigantians inhabiting on it, or from the adjoining town. Now the lake of Constance or Bodensee.
