Volume 5 · 54 words · 1810 Edition

in beasts, denotes the same with after birth in women. Thyme, pennyroyal, winter-favory, and common bore-hound, boiled in white wine, and given to a mare, are esteemed good to expel the heam. Ditany, applied in a pellary, expels the heam, as well as the dead foal; so also do fennel, hops, favin, angelica, &c.
