CHALONS-SUR-SAÔNE, an ancient town of France, in Burgundy, and capital of the Chalonnois, with a citadel and bishop's see. It is seated on the river Saône, in E. Long. 5° 7'. N. Lat. 46° 47'.

CHALONS-SUR-MARNE, a large episcopal town of France, in Champagne. It carries on a considerable trade in falloons and other woollen stuffs. It is seated between two fine meadows on the rivers Marne, Mau, and Nau, in E. Long. 4° 37'. N. Lat. 48° 57'.
