Isaac Vossius will have it to be Zanzibar; Madagascar being at a greater distance from the continent than the ancients ever sailed to, whereas Menuthias was nearer: yet though Zanzibar be nearer the continent, it is however nearer the equator than Ptolemy's Menuthias, placed in fourth latitude 12° degrees.
