a town in Germany, in the Hanover... Of the four larger towns of this principality, it is the third in order. It is situated on the Rhume, which runs into the Leine. It contains 500 houses, and, besides a secularized Lutheran abbey, has one parish church, and some charitable foundations, and also enjoys some manufactures.
