in Cheshire, a good modern almshouse, founded by P—y Brooke, Esq., on the site of a priory of canons regular of St Augustine, founded by William, son of Nigellus, A.D. 1135, who did not live to complete his design; for Euftace de Burgaville granted to Hugh de Catherine pasture for 100 sheep, in case he finished the church in all respects conformable to the intent of the founders. It was granted afterwards to R. Brooke, Esq.
