OVIEDO, a town of Spain, and capital of Asturias d'Orviedo, with a bishop's see, and an university; seated at the confluence of the rivers Ove and Deva, which Ovid, which form the Asta, 50 miles north-west of Leon, and 238 north-west of Madrid. W. Long. 5° 47'. N. Lat. 43° 23'.
