or NEW ANDALUSIA, a country of Terra Firme in South America; bounded on the north by the north sea; on the east by Surinam; on the west by New Granada and the Caracas; and on the south by Guiana. It produces colouring drugs, gums, medicinal roots, Brazil wood, sugar, tobacco, and some valuable timber; the inland parts being woody and mountainous, but interspersed with fine valleys that yield corn and pasture. Comana is the capital town.
