PISIDIA Erythrina, or Dogwood-tree, is employed to intoxicate fish. For this purpose, the bark is pounded Pisidina, small, put into bags, and soaked in salt water. The juice, Pisistratus, which is of a red colour, makes the fish stupid, so that they are easily taken.
