a town of Hungary, with a castle. It was taken by the Turks in 1552; by the Imperialists in 1688; and by the Turks again in 1691; who abandoned it in 1675; after having demolished the fortifications. It is seated on a mountain, in E. Long. 21° 55'. N. Lat. 36° 5'.
