Another Amphryssus in Phrygia, rendering women barren, according to Pliny: Hence the epithet *Amphryssacus* (Statius). Also a town of Phocis, at the foot of Mount Parnassus, encompassed with a double wall by the Thebans in the war with Philip (Pausanias): *Amphryssa Vates*, in Virgil, denotes the Sibyl.
