capital town of Denbighshire in North Wales. It is seated on the side of a rocky hill, on a branch of the river Clwyd, and was formerly a place of great strength, with an impregnable castle, now demolished. It is pretty large, well built, and inhabited by by tanners and glovers, and gives the title of earl to the noble family of Fielding. W. Long. 3° 30'. N. Lat. 53° 15'.
