ISBRAND, a learned professor of physic and anatomy at Utrecht, was born at Montfort, in Holland, in 1609, where he acquired great reputation by his lectures and his practice; and died at Utrecht in 1674. He wrote a treatise on the plague, which is esteemed; and several learned works in anatomy and medicine, which were printed at Utrecht in 1685 in folio.
