Volume 17 · 53 words · 1810 Edition

Pharmacopeius, an apothecary, or a person who prepares and sells medicines; but this word is rarely used but in the way of ridicule. It is composed of φαρμακεύω, medicine, and ποιεῖν, to sell. Hor. Sat. ii. lib. i. ver. 1.
