See SCHORL, MINERALOGY Index.

SHORLING and MORLING, are words to distinguish fells of sheep; florling being the fells after the fleeces are thrown off the sheep's back; and morling, the fells shed off after they die or are killed. In some parts of England they understand by a florling, a sheep whose face is thrown off; and by a morling, a sheep that dies.
