Sea Adder, the English name for a species of Synaptus.
Water Adder, a name given to the Coluber Natrinx. Adder-hung, is used in respect of cattle, when flung by any kind of poisonous reptiles, as adders, scorpions, &c. or bit by a hedgehog or thorn.—For the cure of such bites, some use an ointment made of dragon's blood, with a little barley meal, and the whites of eggs.
