a kingdom of Asia, in the East Indies, bounded on the north by the kingdom of Laos, on the east by Cochin-China and Chiapa, and on the south and west by the gulf and kingdom of Siam; divided by a large river called Mecoon. The capital town is of the same name, seated on the western shore of the said river, about 150 miles north of its mouth. This country is annually overflowed in the rainy season, between June and October; and its productions and fruits are much the same with those usually found between the tropics. E. Long. 104° 15' N.
