Dollars are coined in different parts of Germany and Holland; and have their diminutions, as semi-dollars, quarter-dollars, &c. See MONEY Table.
They are not all of the same fineness or weight. The Dutch dollars are the most frequent. In the Levant they are called aflains, from the impression of a lion thereon.
