These consist of pits, prepared at the bottom with stone and clay, that they may hold water, or the moisture of the dung: and ought to be so situated, that the sinks and drips of the houses and barns may run into them. Into these pits they call refuse, fodder, litter, dung, weeds, &c. where they lie and rot together, till the farmer have occasion for them.

DUNG-Worms, a species of fly-worms, of a short and somewhat flat body, found in great plenty among cow-dung in the months of September and October.
