Εβδομα, in antiquity, a festival kept on the seventh of every lunar month, in honour of Apollo, to whom all seventh days were sacred, because one of them was his birth-day; whence he was sometimes called Ebdomagenes. For the ceremonies of this solemnity see Potter's Archael. Græc. lib. ii. cap. 20.
