an old term in *Natural History*, from the Greek, ἐλλιπος imperfect, παραγεν long, and ῥυμα a column; which expresses an imperfect crystal with a long column, one end of the column being affixed to some solid body, and composed of thin and slender hexangular columns, terminated by hexagonal pyramids.
