FLAVIUS, a Latin author, in the 4th century, was secretary to Constantine the Great, and afterwards bore arms under the emperor Julian, and followed that prince in his expedition against the Persians. He wrote an Abridgement of the Roman History, from the foundation of Rome to the reign of Valens; the best edition of which is that of Miss Le Fevre, afterwards Madame Dacier, published at Paris for the use of the Dauphin, in 4to, in the year 1683.
